Y1 Common Plants

Pupils learn to identify a range of common plants. They sort these plants into two groups, 'Garden' and 'Wild' flowers. Pupils extend their knowledge of plants by further sorting parts of plants into 'flowers', 'seeds' and fruits. A cut and paste activity.

Learning Objectives:

  • PoS - identify and name a variety of common wild and garden plants, including deciduous and evergreen trees
  • WS - Pupils should become familiar with common names of flowers, examples of deciduous and evergreen trees, and plant structures (including leaves, flowers (blossom), petals, fruit, roots, bulb, seed, trunk, branches, stem).
