Y4 Teeth and Eating

Pupils learn about omnivores, carnivores and herbivores and the type of teeth these groups of animals adapted to help them eat their food. Pupils identify molars, canines and incisors and identify the jobs that each of these teeth do when eating.

Learning Objectives:

  • PoS - identify the different types of teeth in humans and their simple functions
  • NaG - pupils might work scientifically by: comparing the teeth of carnivores and herbivores, and suggesting reasons for differences
  • WS - making systematic and careful observations; using straightforward scientific evidence to answer questions or to support their findings
