Y2 Predicting Germination and Plant Growth

Pupils plant seeds in a variety of conditions. They make predictions regarding seed germination and plant growth before planting their seeds and investigating whether or not their predictions were accurate.

Learning Objectives:

  • PoS - find out and describe how plants need water, light and a suitable temperature to grow and stay healthy.
  • NaG - pupils learn that seeds and bulbs need water to grow but do not need light.
  • WS - pupils should set up a comparative test to show that plants need light and water to stay healthy; use their observations and ideas to suggest answers to questions.
