Y2 Looking for Plants and Animals

Pupils go on a local plant and animal safari. They tick the boxes if they find the plants and animals in the survey living in the habitats the investigate.

Learning Objectives:

  • PoS - identify and name a variety of plants and animals in their habitats, including micro-habitats
  • NaG - pupils should be introduced to the terms ‘habitat’ (a natural environment or home of a variety of plants and animals) and ‘micro-habitat’ (a very small habitat, for example for woodlice under stones, logs or leaf litter)
  • WS - observing closely, using simple equipment
