Y5 Day and Night

Pupils construct a rotating model of the Earth that helps them to understand that the Earth rotates and it is this rotation that gives us night and day.


Learning Objectives:

  • PoS - use the idea of the Earth’s rotation to explain day and night
  • NaG - pupils should be introduced to a model of the Sun and Earth that enables them to explain day and night
  • WS - pupils should use simple models to describe scientific ideas
